MCM-41 supported Mo/Zr mixed oxides as catalysts in liquid phase condensation of 2-methylfuran with acetone

چکیده
Molybdenum and zirconium mixed oxides were supported on siliceous MCM-41 mesoporous material. The resultant materials were characterized with various techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), nitrogen adsorption, Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), XANES, NH3-TPD, and Diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectra (DRIFTS) of pyridine. It was found that the well-ordered channeling pores of MCM-41 were retained with a maximum loading of 9 wt.% MoO3 and 13 wt.% ZrO2. The ZrMo2O8 crystallites appeared with an even higher loading. The materials had surface areas greater than 500 m2/g and a relatively narrow pore size distribution. MoO3 and ZrO2 were well dispersed inside the pores of MCM-41. The Mo(VI) was found in octahedral coordination when no ZrMo2O8 crystallites were detected. The MoO3/ZrO2/MCM-41 samples contained only Lewis acid sites. Although NH3-TPD experiments indicated that its acid strength was weaker than that of Y-zeolite, the MoO3/ZrO2/MCM-41 materials were excellent catalysts for liquid phase condensation of 2-methylfuran (MF) with acetone to form 2,2-bis(5-methylfuryl)propane (BMP). © 2003 Elsevier Science B.V. Enhanced HDN Performance of Al, Zr and Ti Modified NiW Catalysts by Using Co-Impregnation Method
The Al, Zr, and Ti modified MCM-41 materials were prepared by the post-synthesis method, and then the Ni-W species were introduced on them by using the co-impregnation method in order to obtain high-performance hydrodenitrogenation (HDN) catalysts. The activity of the catalysts was evaluated by the HDN reaction of quinoline. The optimum HDN activity was observed on the catalyst sup...

The effect of gold presence on carbon monoxide oxidation and ethanol steam reforming catalytic behavior of two Ce-Zr-Co mixed oxides catalysts with a constant Co charge and different Ce/Zr ratios was investigated. The Ce-Zr-Co mixed oxides were obtained by the pseudo sol-gel like method, based on metallic propionates polymerization and thermal decomposition, whereas the gold-supported Ce-Zr-Co ...

متن کاملOne-step production of long-chain hydrocarbons from waste-biomass-derived chemicals using bi-functional heterogeneous catalysts.
In this study, we demonstrate the production of long-chain hydrocarbons (C8+) from 2-methylfuran (2MF) and butanal in a single step reactive process by utilizing a bi-functional catalyst with both acid and metallic sites. Our approach utilizes a solid acid for the hydroalkylation function and as a support as well as a transition metal as hydrodeoxygenation catalyst. A series of solid acids was ...

Bis(2-R-ind)ZrCl2 (R: H or phenyl) was supported on different types of silica by in situ impregnation method and used for ethylene polymerization. In this method, the step of catalyst loading on support was eliminated and common alkyl aluminum (triisobutylaluminum, TiBA) cocatalyst was used instead of expensive methyl aluminiumoxane (MAO) cocatalyst in the polymerization. The effect of surface ...
